§ VI. Performance Appraisal—All City Employees

  • The performance of each employee will be rated on a periodic basis by the department head. Permanent employees will be evaluated annually from the date of the last evaluation. Probationary employees will be evaluated at the end of the probationary period.

    The performance of Department Heads will be rated on a periodic basis by the Mayor. Department heads will be evaluated annually from the date of the last evaluation.

    Completed evaluation forms will become a part of the employee's personnel record. The performance rating system is the means by which employees may be advised of their strength and weaknesses and will be reviewed and considered in any promotion action.
