§ 10-40. Definitions.

The following terms when used in this article shall have the meaning ascribed to them:

Department: The sanitation department of the city.

Garbage and trash: All refuse accumulations of animal, fruit or vegetable matter that attends the preparation, use, cooking, dealing in, or storage of food; and also discarded tin cans, bottles, paper products, excelsior, cloth and other discarded combustible materials; but does not mean or include trees, shrubbery or the trimmings therefrom.
