§ 16-16. Truck route.

  • (a)

    The following roadways are no longer designated as the official truck route through the city:

    From Blackwell Road leading from the City of Sheffield to Second Street; east on Second Street to Hook Street; south on Hook Street to Fifth Street; east on Fifth Street to Dickson; south on Dickson to Woodmont and U.S. Highway 72.

    (b)

    Through truck traffic in the City of Tuscumbia is permitted along U.S. Highway 72 which is designated the official truck route through the City of Tuscumbia, Alabama.

    (c)

    All commercial vehicles of one-ton capacity or more shall use the truck route of U.S. Highway 72 when passing through the city except when actually making delivery of goods or services. When making delivery of goods and services in the city, all commercial vehicles of one-ton capacity or more shall enter the city on Woodmont Drive off of U.S. Highway 72. As soon as delivery is completed, said vehicle shall return to the truck route by the shortest possible route to Woodmont Drive and then to the truck route.

    (d)

    All previous truck routes in the city are hereby declared null and void.
