§ 2-4. Uniform nontraffic citation and complaint.

  • (a)

    Any law enforcement officer of the city may issue a uniform nontraffic citation and complaint to any person charged with committing an offense appearing in the supreme court's extended schedule of fines appearing as Appendix B to Rule 20 of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration, and may release such person from custody upon his/her written promise to appear in court at the designated time and place as evidenced by his/her signature on the uniform nontraffic citation and complaint.

    (b)

    The attached uniform nontraffic citation and complaint appearing as Appendix A to Rule 20 of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration is hereby adopted.

    (c)

    The supreme court's extended schedule of fines appearing as Appendix B to Rule 20 of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration adopted October 14, 1976, as revised effective October 1, 1987, and as amended through May 1, 1999, is hereby adopted in whole and shall apply in municipal ordinance violation cases.

    (d)

    All of the provisions of Rule 20 (E) of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration with regard to the procedure for pleading guilty to nontraffic offense are hereby adopted.
