§ 3-3. Humane officer.

  • (a)

    There is hereby created within the city the position of director of animal control, or humane officer. The director or humane officer shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to the approval of the city council.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly and wilfully to oppose or resist the director or humane officer or any of his assistants in executing or attempting to execute any lawful process or in attempting to make or in making any lawful arrest or in the discharge of any regular duty, or in any way to interfere with, hinder or prevent any such officer from discharging his duty.

    (c)

    The director or humane officer shall have full police powers, provided each shall have completed the required training as required by state law.
