§ 3-7. License tags for dogs and cats.

Upon issuing a permit to keep any dog or cat, the city clerk shall issue to the owner a colored metallic or durable plastic tag, stamped with an identifying number and with the year of issuance, and so designed that it may conveniently be fastened to the dog or cat's collar or harness. The color of this tag shall be changed each year. Such tag shall be fastened to the dog or cat's collar or harness by the owner and shall be worn at all times when the dog or cat is off the premises of its owner, except when in obedience trials, training or shows. The city clerk shall maintain a record of the identifying numbers and shall make this record available to the public.
