§ 5-22. Yard, etc., sale permits.

  • (a)

    Each person holding a yard, garage, lawn, back door, or rummage sale, or sale of like type, at such person's residence shall be required to purchase a permit, which permit will be good for three (3) consecutive days, and the fee for which shall be five dollars ($5.00).

    (b)

    No more than two (2) permits per calendar year will be issued to any person at the same residence.

    (c)

    Any valid complaint as to nuisance or disturbance of the peace will constitute authority for refusal to issue additional permits.

    (d)

    Permits must be obtained from the city clerk's office before the sale is to begin.

    (e)

    This section shall not apply to churches or other charitable organizations.

    (f)

    No signs or advertisements pertaining to said sales will be placed on public property (including utility poles) and all signs advertising said sales, regardless of where placed, will be removed within forty-eight (48) hours after the sale is over. No sign will be placed at any location which would obstruct or interfere with sight or view of anyone driving or traveling in the area of said sign.

    (g)

    There shall not be allowed a yard, garage, lawn, back door or rummage sale and or sale of like type, on public property in the City of Tuscumbia, including, but not limited to, Spring Park and the Commons.
